SA Jewish Museum exhibition gets a repeat run

The Goldene Medina (The Golden Land) reflects the religious, social and political history of the Jews of South Africa, from 1841 to 2016. Comprising a curated collection of anecdotes, images, artefacts and films it creates a tapestry of the communal experiences that, over the course of 175 years, has forged a new, shared identity — the South African Jew.

For those Capetonians who missed the exhibition first time around and for those holidaymakers visiting Cape Town in December, there’s a second chance to read the heart-warming, tear-jerking, laugh-out- loud anecdotes and mini-memoires that comprise this narrative exploration of our past. The exhibition re-opens at the SA Jewish Museum, 88 Hatfield Street, Gardens on 22 December 2016 and runs until the end of January 2017.

To read the stories behind these and other incredible images, visit The Goldene Medina, a curation of anecdotes, photos and film celebrating our shared identity as Jewish South Africans.
