Bonds created through interfaith

Cape Town Interfaith Initiative’s exchange programme between Cape Town and Blackburn (UK) is producing meaningful friendships and cultural bridges.

Gabi Tadmor, a Grade 11 pupil at Herzlia High School, met her friend, Parhin Begum from the UK on the programme last year. Their friendship is testament to the intentions of the initiative. “We have very different views, but we realise that there are more similarities between us than differences, and we have become very close. I had very different views about Jewish people before I met Gabi,” Parhin said. Gabi agreed, adding: “There’s no way I’m going to let this bond break. It’s amazing — this is what the initiative does. We are living proof of it.”
