Bringing musical distinction to Herzlia High School

Ethan Radowsky on drums and Cain Rademan on piano

Herzlia pupils Cain Rademan and Ethan Radowsky recently received distinctions for the National Senior Certificate Matric music exams.

The friends who have been at school together since they started at Sarah Bloch at age of three, are the first to take music as a Matric subject at Herzlia. The fact that both have achieved high distinctions is a credit to their talent and dedication, as well as to Principal Marc Falconer, Head of Music Danielle Asherson and members of the Herzlia Music Department team who have brought the dream of music as a birthright for future generations at Herzlia to life.

Rademan, who will be studying Computer Science at UCT this year, said that being involved in music at Herzlia was an exciting and uplifting experience that provided him with an outlet for self-expression and allowed him to connect with his peers. He believes that culture and art are just as important as academic excellence adding that he had enjoyed seeing the musical ethos at Herzlia grow throughout his time at the school and looked forward to seeing what the next generation of talented musicians at Herzlia would accomplish.

Radowsky, who will be pursuing a B.Comm degree, agrees that the opportunity to study music at Herzlia has provided him with wonderful opportunities to express his creative talents both personally and within the group and that skills learnt would form a lifelong basis for a future performing career as a drummer and his love of music into the future.

The pair has also performed in One Act Plays, at school functions and in the popular Feel the Beat musical.
