On Monday 1 July the Director of the Cape Board, Stuart Diamond, spoke to members of the Chai Coffee Club.
The group consists of 18 retired Jewish gentlemen (excluding when they have visitors) hence the name ‘Chai’. They meet weekly over refreshments and have informal discussions mainly on Jewish affairs in relation to Israel, South Africa and the global village.
“It is through these opportunities to engage that we start the process of coming together and building a community built on respect and recognition of our different Jewish identities”, said Stuart Diamond.
