Do you care?

The Jewish Care Cape Annual General Meeting of the seven welfare organisations  on Wednesday 28 August will show just how much this community does care!

The JCC Annual General Meeting is billed as ‘Your Window to a Caring Community’. This year, their 11th AGM provides a very visual way to engage with Astra Centre, Cape Jewish Seniors Association, Glendale Home, Highlands House, Jewish Community Services, Nechama and Oranjia.

Included with this edition of the Chronicle is the Annual Jewish Care Cape Handbook, providing useful and pertinent information about each organisation. We encourage you use this publication to keep updated with what these organisations are doing.

One window to a caring community will be opened by keynote speaker, Lauren Gillis, who will screen Limits, the inspirational 18-minute documentary film, showing how she and intellectually-challenged Donna Chait participated in the New York Marathon together. Lauren will share behind-the-scenes reflections from their attempt to achieve their goal.

Other windows will be opened courtesy of grade 11s from Herzlia, who will be presenting the 2-minute videos they produced, showcasing the organisations. As in the past two years, this year’s insights reveal fresh perspectives on our community and have been captured with impressive creativity.

Show that you care and attend the Jewish Care Cape AGM, which provides a unique opportunity to engage with all seven welfare organisations and to be informed about the challenges and realities facing us today.

JEWISH CARE CAPE‘s AGM will be on Wednesday 28 August at 5.00 for 5.30pm at the Gardens Community Centre — refreshments will be served at 5pm.
