Habo-Fever is upon us

By Jess Levitt

Habonim Dror Southern Africa has been having a whirlwind month of June with activity in the kenim at an all time high, our machaneh name for 2017 being launched and our Shorashim participants ready to leave for an incredible three weeks in Israel with their closest friends and madrichim.

This year our Givon (Grade 10) shichvah will be spending their July holidays in Israel exploring the beauty that the country has to offer with some of their madrichim. With the program being fully booked, it promises to be the experience of a lifetime. Givon will be traveling across the country seeing it in all it’s beauty, engaging with Israeli society, visiting the Western Wall and so much more. We wish all of our channichim and madrichim who are attending, a fantastic trip and we cannot wait to hear all about it when you return.

This year’s machaneh name has finally been released. Habonim Dror Southern Africa’s Machaneh17: Na’aleh (We Will Rise) promises to be an incredible three-week experience of the Habo magic that we all know and love so much. We felt that this name symbolises everything that HDSA has been in 2017 and more. We are rising once again with a year full of the biggest events that the movement has had in years and we are building up to another fantastic machaneh. With preparations well underway and our Va’ad Machaneh soon to be announced, we have a lot of exciting things coming your way. Don’t miss out; 8-27 December 2017 will be three weeks to remember!

With school holidays on the horizon we have loads planned for our channichim in Cape Town. Please be in touch with roshkenct@habo.org.za to find out more information about our day-camps for Garinim (Grades 3 and 4) and Shtilim (Grades 5 and 6) and see what fun, engagement and excitement awaits them this July.
