Every Rosh Hashana, Astra holds a Yom Tov party for the workers.
The Centre appeals to manufacturers and retail outlets for donations of new clothing and footwear which are given to the workers as gifts. They look forward to this function with great excitement. At the party, they eagerly wait for their names to be called as they are handed their individual gifts. In a separate ceremony, a number of workers and staff members with long service were acknowledged with a small gift — a personalised Astra Centre coffee mug.
