2009 April

The planning and execution of this Kosher le Pesach issue – specially prepared for reading as you do of the Haggadah at your seder – was by no means easy, and should be something of a surprise. In a nutshell, the normal monthly order has been reversed!
By now the print version will have reached readers, whose reaction we await with much interest – in fact eagerness.

How it will present to you in the web version is uncertain, but we are hopeful. Hopeful that it will do the ‘right’ thing – that is, with the pages numbered right to left. Indeed, all those contributors, organisations and advertisers, who insist – or plead – for ‘right hand and as near to the front as possible’, will have handle the disappointment of being ‘left hand and towards the back’.

We trust that they and all readers will humour a long-nurtured whim of this crazy, or perhaps foolish, editor and take it in 1st April and Pesach spirit. And wherever the page is – right or left; front or back – judge it for its particular worth.

This edition will obviously be Pesach focused, as is noted in the greetings from all quarters. Other than that it has the usual mix – and, as is always of great interest, especially to those far distant, the Herzlia and bridal pages.

One matter that needs resolving, however, is in regard to a complaint from a reader in Philadelphia, USA. He advised us that he has been unable to download the pages of the last issue and also those of previous issues. When consulted on this our ‘webmaster’ said that it should not be a problem and that we should inform readers that they should follow this procedure:

To download the pdf version of any print edition, click on the thumbnail image of the printed edition (i.e. the picture of the paper on the right side).

To see and download any previous edition, click on the right category: ‘Printed editions’.

We are thrilled to know that someone as far off as Philadelphia is enjoying the paper. Makes this whole process so worthwhile. We’d love to hear from other readers, near and far. Even a short email to: icy@ctjc.co.za would do it.

So good reading and we trust you will enjoy a meaningful and memorable Pesach with loving family and friends.
