The Yom Tov Fair, held at the Sea Point Civic Centre on Sunday 11 September, was a highlight of the BZA WIZO year.
Visitors were enticed by the aromas of the Debra Cafe, fresh vegetables, herbs, hot beef on rye and soup and perogen. Traditional delicacies such as homemade kichel, taiglach, ginger cakes and bulkas were very popular as always, and the biscuit arrangements were beautifully presented. The various boutique stall vendors added to the variety of goods for sale.
Children were entertained by the petting zoo and magician, and the collectable store attracted great interest. It offered a wide array of goods that had been kindly donated by members of our community, for which we thank them.
The Tomer branch, together with two other branches, worked hard for several months baking their famous and delicious bagel biscuits, which were such a hit that they were almost sold out before the market!
All our branch members committed themselves with great energy and dedication to making this beautiful market such an enormous success. We thank Seon Killian (Event Interiors) and Esta Levitas for helping to create the terrific atmosphere, and our sponsors Checkers, Pick ‘n Pay, Woolworths and Meyer Budow for their generosity.
