We are now well and truly in 5770 and we start the cycle once again. This issue, while relatively subdued compared to its 64-page predecessor, probably has as much text and editorial.
The recent historic national Board of Deputies conference drew top international Jewish leaders who shared global perspectives, another major presence being SA President Jacob Zuma. This is well covered, with an additional fascinating piece on the Middle East by Hagai Segal – his penultimate, unfortunately, for this publication.
Some organisations, like Tikkun and YAD, have come out strongly page-wise, with Herzlia faithfully and colourfully covering its schools’ highlights as ever.
Certain Yomtov items missed the September ‘cut’, as they say in golf. One of these was the ever successful BZA WIZO Yom Tov Market. This year’s was one of the best, some say, and is well depicted on page 15, with beaming faces of the ladies whose wares were sold out in no time.
In any event, the way to go is from page one, following up on the ‘teaser’ pictures and texts. And after that, take whichever route you fancy. It’s all there waiting to be viewed and read.
