2013 November

The year may be winding down, but the Cape Town Jewish community certainly is not!

This issue is filled with reports on wonderful events, from the Cape SA Jewish Board of Deputies Conference and YAD Business Breakfast to Bnoth Zion WIZO’s Rebecca Sieff Awards, activities at Highlands House and ORT, and much more.

You can also look forward to exciting upcoming events, like the Gardens Shul’s Friday Night Live 6th Anniversary and wonderful films, lectures and fundraisers.

The community mourns the passing of Norman Isaacson Z”L, who touched so many lives in Cape Town and around the world. Read a moving tribute to him on page 19 of this issue.

We also feature contributions from readers who tell us why they love the Cape Jewish Chronicle. Comments include: “The Chronicle is a vibrant paper filled with interesting articles suitable for both young and old, and is the cement that binds the community together,” and “It keeps me current, connected, involved, informed and in touch!”

On that note, if you have not contributed your voluntary subscription of R260 to the Cape Jewish Chronicle for 2013, you can still do so. See page 18 for details.
