Diller — A week in Warsaw

One of the many incredible things about Diller Teen Fellows is how much they value educational enrichment for all their staff.

In May I was lucky enough to go on a coordinators seminar to Poland. All 32 coordinators, as well as International staff, met up in Warsaw and spent an unbelievable week together. Diller Teen Fellows international staff decided to enrich us coordinators with very different perspective of Poland. They wanted to show us what the Jewish community in Warsaw looked like today, which was really inspiring to see and experience.

We visited their JCC (Jewish Community Centre), which was an incredibly happy and proud place. The JCC do incredible things in Warsaw, in terms of trying to bring the Jewish community back together. They host various event nights, where they educate people about Judaism, both Jews and non-Jews attend these events. We visited the only Jewish school in Warsaw, which really put things into perspective. The school has about 200 students from pre-primary school until middle school and a mix of Jewish students and non-Jewish students.

It was such a special experience to be able to be with Jewish educators around the world in a city that holds so much history for the Jewish people, and to be able to learn together and experience it together was something I will never forget.
