Nechama is a counselling service for bereaved Jewish members of the community.
The organisation is run by a group of dedicated professionals and trained volunteer counsellors. The bereaved are helped through their process of mourning in accordance with Jewish laws and customs, using modern methods and knowledge from the fields of psychiatry, psychology and social work.
Nechama is happy to announce and introduce Sarit Swisa, their new Psychological Services Coordinator.
Sarit is a psychologist by profession who came highly recommended, with experience and skill in the role of assisting people going through emotional pain and undergoing difficulties, and in her words “I enjoy creating spaces that facilitate others’ growth, and in which they feel supported.”
Sarit has additionally trained in Schema therapy and family work. She has co-chaired programming at Limmud in Johannesburg, is currently assisting and coordinating the international presenters on the National Committee for Limmud this year and has had decades of involvement in Camp Kesher, a camp for vulnerable children.
Sarit will use her skills, training and knowledge as well as her creativity in her new position at Nechama.
