When the new moon appears for the first time in the night sky, we celebrate.

Rosh Chodesh means the ‘head of the month’, and it is a day, or two, of celebration marking the start of a new lunar month.

Rosh Chodesh is especially dear to women and recently there has been an explosion of beautiful Rosh Chodesh gatherings, where women come together to study Torah, recite Psalms and share inspiration. One of these inspirational gatherings occurred in October at Chabad on Campus.

Franki Silverman, head of the Rosh Chodesh Society organised a Kosher Cooking Club with Rebbetzin Ariella. Young women came together to learn their favourite Chabad House recipes, along with the laws of kosher cooking, in celebration of the new moon.
