Habonim — The month that was

Ogen and Sufah chanichim on top of Lions Head.

Having entered the vaccination stages of the Covid-19 pandemic in South Africa, the Habonim Dror Cape Town Ken continue to navigate these difficult times, trying to heal and survive as we continue our journey.

This month started off with our Rosh Bogrim setting up a putt-putt course in all parts of our Cape Town Bayit where players competed against each other, in preparation for the upcoming Ryder Cup. This event was an absolute spectacle and highly competitive, leading to a few fist bumps, verbals from opposition and even a couple of holes-in-one. Some members of the Ken were sure to call out others for a potential rematch to be played down at the local course on Beach Road.

Soon after, on what was a beautiful Cape Town summer’s day, a group of chanichim from Ogen and Sufah, accompanied by bogrim, embarked on a hike up Lions Head. Some say you could not have picked a better day for it. We look forward to doing more hikes in some different spots around Cape Town in the future!

A quick update on our Fantasy Premier League ‘HDSA mini-league’ has Aaron Kruss van der Heever in top spot on 466 points, followed by last month’s leader moving down a spot into 2nd on 452 points.

Keep an eye out for some of our upcoming events, including our very own and famous ‘Amazing Race’!
