Heartland Initiative: Strengthening ties between Israel and South Africa

Heartland Initiative’s Senior Partner Gedaliah Blum meets the SAZF CC Executive

‘Together we will continue to build bridges for a vibrant and strong Israel globally’

The SAZF CC had the privilege of hosting Gedaliah Blum, senior partner of Heartland Initiative. We facilitated a number of meetings and conversations with communal organisations, so that they had the opportunity to meet the dynamic Gedaliah Blum and hear first-hand about the work of the Heartland organisation and the opportunities available for future collaboration.

Gedaliah commented on the meeting held with the SAZF CC: ‘’In a productive meeting with Heather Blumenthal and the executive team of the South African Zionist Federation (SAZF) Cape Council, I witnessed their dedication to strengthening Jewish identity and building cross-cultural connections, notably with the local Christian community.

“It was clear that despite anti-Israel sentiments, the SAZF is committed to advocating for Israel and enhancing its image in South Africa through education, advocacy, and lobbying. Their inclusive efforts foster strong relationships across communities. We discussed integrating the Heartland Initiative’s network and support into their efforts, aiming to amplify their impact and further their mission of fostering widespread support for Israel in a complex environment.”
