We recently hosted the very successful Biennial Conference of our umbrella body, the South African Union for Progressive Judaism (SAUPJ). With members from Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, East London and Port Elizabeth joining us for wonderful Shabbat services, round table conversations discussing the SAUPJ’s Vision and Values, some excellent food and time to connect with each other, the weekend was a great advertisement for our movement, and we look forward to the hard work that lies ahead.
We also celebrated the graduation of our first ever national Shlichei Tzibbur (Service Leadership) course with our graduates leading parts of the service for the first time. Thank you to all who contributed.
