Diller Cape Town

Ready for a summer of meaning & impact!

By EYTAN LABE | DILLER

Diller Cohort 10 is buzzing as we gear up for July. Our Summer Seminar to Israel is on pause, but our commitment to meaningful experiences remains strong. Recent workshops focused on Tikkun Olam, and with Diller’s generous grant, ideas are turning into action. We’ve deepened our connection to Israel and our role in its future. We’re also stepping out in style with new Diller merch. Though our journey looks different for now, we’re ready to embrace it – together!

Shelanu’s Pyjama Book Night: stories, snacks & shared values

By MARTINE KAWALSKY KATZ  |  BBYO

Sixty-plus young children and 25 BBYO teen leaders got together for a fun evening of Jewish connection. Children enjoyed stories, snacks, and activity stations – thoughtfully planned by our teens who modelled the values of chesed (kindness), kehillah (community), and limmud (learning). Thanks to our host Weizmann and all who made this night a celebration of youth leadership and community.

What’s up, Bnei Akiva!

By EDEN LIPSHITZ  |  BNEI AKIVA

What an action-packed month! Grade 3 held an Amazing Race at the Waterfront and Grade 4 explored Table Mountain, while Grade 5 enjoyed a movie, pizza, and surprise dance party. Grade 6 hosted a Shabbat for 25+ chanichim. Grade 7 girls had a chill painting brunch at The Press, and the boys battled it out at 5-a-side soccer. Grade 8s Bake-Off included a kashrut Q&A, and Grade 9 Chaim girls shared a meaningful Shabbat. Grade 10s Sayeret Shabbaton brought bonding and bonfires, while Grade 11s Torah learning and Padel games continue strong. Weekly Maddie Torah nights bring great energy. Mazal Tov to our shlichim, Maytal and Shlomo Goldberg, on the birth of their baby girl!

The heartbeat of Habonim Dror SA: Life at the bayit

By YAEL DUCHEN  |  HABONIM

The Hebrew word Bayit translates to ‘house’ or ‘home’. The Bayit reflects the mind of our movement – always filled with laughter, silliness, and the voices of madrichim and channichim. As the term ends, we fondly reflect on our time: from magic shows to study sessions and tutoring by madrichim, and our diverse weekly meetings exploring everything from global news to first aid and themed events. Our Bayit is more than a house. For Habonim members, it is home. Aleh VeHagshem
