2010 March

While generally the April issue is the prelude to Pesach, this year the first day of Pesach – 15 Nisan – falls on 30 March. That being so, March has to be our โ€˜Pesach editionโ€™.

Tradition being a keynote to our Jewish survival, the Chronicle likewise follows a traditional approach. Rather than focusing โ€˜big timeโ€™ on one specific item, we traditionally feature on our front page what we see as some of the major stories of the month, with a picture or two, following up with the storiesโ€™ within the body of the paper. You will note a number of โ€˜see pageโ€™s on this monthโ€™s front page.

In addition, where space allows, we indicate further recommendations in the โ€˜Inside this Issueโ€™ panel at the bottom of the page, as is there this month.

However, to adapt Al Jolsonโ€™s โ€œYou โ€™aint seen nuttin yetโ€™, we guarantee plenty more for all tastes, covering the wide range of interests of our special community.

Of course, besides the locals who actually enjoy reading โ€˜on lineโ€™, the Chronicle is likewise our โ€˜showpieceโ€™ for former Capetonians and friends the world over who maintain an interest in whatโ€™s doing here down south.

In this month of March, to all of you readers, wherever you may be, our warmest good wishes for the forthcoming Festival of Freedom โ€“ Chag Sameach โ€“ A Warm and Happy Pesach with Family and Friends!
