Kristy Evans, Executive Director of the Groote Schuur Hospital Trust (GSH)

Holding a Masters in Public Health, Kristy moved to SA from Canada in 2002 for an internship and never left. She is highly-driven and strategic with a proven track-record of operational and management excellence. Her passions lie in the arts and women’s health; her talents lie in communication strategy, relationship management and fundraising.

The newly formed GSH Trust is the fundraising arm of Groote Schuur. Its goal is to ensure world-class pioneering healthcare for all through its partnerships with donors and stakeholders to move the needle on the advancement of healthcare in the Western Cape, SA and globally.

Gill Saks and Rabbi Emma Gottlieb launch Tikkun Team (T2)

T2 is Temple Israel’s task force for projects of social action and social justice. The team brings together volunteers with an aim to revive the social justice roots of the Progressive movement. Projects range from making holiday gift bags for shul seniors to developing gardening projects. From supporting feeding schemes to upgrading a crèche in Khayelitsha.

Rabbi Emma and Gill bring their passion for activism and building connections between communities to the group, and are excitedly empowering the volunteers to tap into their own superpowers and drive projects from their own places of passion.
