Oasis Retirement Resort, offering Apartments sold under Sectional Title, is regarded as the most comprehensively equipped secure luxury retirement resort in Cape Town.

It is located among acres of landscaped gardens and ponds in the heart of Century City, a stone’s throw away from Canal Walk Shopping Centre with all the retail and leisure opportunities that it offers. There are other nearby shops and restaurants as well as the unique Intaka Island with its plethora of bird life. Residents live within easy driving distance of the CBD, Waterfront, Atlantic Seaboard, Southern and Northern Suburbs and airport.

Oasis Apartments residents enjoy magnificent Oasis Club facilities including a restaurant, coffee bar, lounge and sun lounge areas, outside fountain and porch seating areas, a beautifully appointed library, bridge room and classic style billiard room. There is a gym with a 25 meter heated indoor pool, sauna, and steam room. A large separate function room hosts many events. A specialist art room and intimate entertainment or meeting venue are situated among the gardens.

An even greater attraction than the facilities is the sense of community and security in good and bad times. Burdens such as coping with Covid and loadshedding are shared. Dedicated professional management and volunteer Body Corporate Trustees and Resort Directors work together facing current and future challenges. There are many clubs and special events. One can be as busy as one chooses! There are art classes, creative writing courses, dance, outings to beautiful places, book reviews and talks by writers, travel tales, religious study, speakers of general interest, discussion groups, plus bridge, billiards, creative work for charities and more. Resort management presents pub nights, theme meals and weeks and a plethora of fun events including guest entertainers and lunches and dinners as varied as Valentine’s, Robbie Burns, St Patrick’s Day or for New Year, Christmas or Earth Week, etc. There is an active Greening Team, and the resort has the distinction of being recognised by the City of Cape Town for diverting huge amounts of waste from landfill to recycling.

The onsite Oasis Care Centre provides 3 phases of long term care, namely Assisted Living, Frail Care and Alzheimer’s/Dementia care. The Care Centre has a renowned Physical Rehabilitation wing for post hospital step down care. It also provides a Primary Health Care service to Oasis Apartments residents that includes a daily clinic, monitoring of residents and 24-hour emergency call outs.

There is also a fully-fledged general practitioner practice with its clinic situated at the main entrance to the resort. This practice is retained by the Care Centre and the doctors are also available to tread Oasis Apartment residents as well as outside patients.

There are residents of various religious persuasions including a sizeable Jewish community. An active Oasis WIZO branch caters for women and men. There are regular shiurim. Shul services are held often on Friday evenings. Residents and club management recently arranged a Pesach seder with around 100 attendees. The Oasis Care Centre invites Apartments residents to events such as an annual Channukah party and the blowing of the shofar on Rosh Hashanah by a member of the Milnerton shul.
