A valuable record of the Nazi occupation of Jewish Warsaw
The tour to Poland in late July organised by the Cape Town Holocaust & Genocide Centre included a visit to the Jewish Historical Institute in Warsaw. This organisation serves as a centre for academic research relating to Poland’s Jewish history, and it holds numerous documents and other materials of relevance to this history.
According to Wikipedia, “The most valuable part of the collection is the Warsaw Ghetto Archive, known as the Ringelblum Archive (collected by the Oyneg Shabbos). It contains some 6 000 documents (some 30 000 pages).”
