The Grant Querido Classic Golf Day was held on 12 May at the King David Mowbray Golf Club.
The golf day was in honour of the beloved Grant Querido, who sadly passed away from Covid last year — he was a great supporter of WIZO and the community.
Thirty-two four-ball teams arrived in perfect playable weather conditions, ready to have fun. The teams pulled out all the stops and produced exciting golf.
The camaraderie and excitement were high throughout the day. Adam Querido (son of late Grant Querido) scored his first hole-in-one on the 13th hole. And the excitement didn’t end there — Donne Querido (Adam’s mom, organiser, and ‘lady of the green’) played her best round of golf, and her ladies’ four-ball won 1st place with the best score of the day.
The evening concluded with a delicious dinner, and entertainment provided by comedian Mark Lottering and magician Stuart Lightbody.
