Volunteer Service-Learning

The Mensch Volunteer Programme begins!

A cohort of 16 Jewish volunteers began their community service-learning experience with Mensch this May. The group will volunteer hands-on in under-resourced communities facing the poverty-related challenges of limited access to nutritious food, education, and psycho-social support. The experience is framed through the lens of Jewish values relating to service, with Jewish text study, discussion and reflection grounding the learning. The programme is based in and around the incredible Love in a Bowl community farm in Hout Bay, which grows and donates over 2 tons of organic fresh and dry food monthly.
