Feast of history

Rosh Hashanah cooking demonstration

By ESTHER SURDUT

Emunah Cape Town together with the SAZF Cape Council hosted a most successful Fundraiser: The Feast of History Rosh Hashana Cooking Demo.

This fundraiser was in aid of the vulnerable at-risk children of the Achuzat Sara Children’s Home in Bnei Brak, the goal being to provide additional care for the children. Since October 7th and the ongoing war, these already traumatised children have experienced the devastating effects of the recent year.

The cooking demonstrators were Rebbetzin Nicole Green and Hadassah Friedman. Despite the cold and wet weather, a packed hall enjoyed the smell and taste of the coming Yamim Noraim! Rebbetzin Nicole Green’s Simanim table and explanation set the tone with the symbolism of our special Rosh Hashana foods bringing meaning to the cooking demo. The warm atmosphere of the evening was further enhanced by Hadassah’s delicious hot soup samplers!

It was a most successful fundraising event, enjoyed by all. After the demo there were more delicious tasters and treats enjoyed at the tea table.

Four lucky draw winners walked away with wonderful items, including an airfryer as the main prize.
